I would like to introduce Comida Hut, a cutting-edge mobile ordering app created to improve the dining experience for patrons of our genuine Mexican restaurant. This app addresses the accessibility issue for non-English speakers and the lack of time for in-store pickups because it was created to serve a diverse user base.

Project Overview:

In the case of Comida Hut, my project goal was to design a mobile ordering app that provided an authentic and accessible Mexican culinary experience for a diverse range of users. This included considering the needs of native Spanish speakers, providing efficient home delivery options, and designing an easy-to-use interface for users of all technological experiences. User research methods such as competitive audits and user journey mapping made me able to gain a better understanding of our target users and design decisions that addressed their pain points and needs.

Design Challenges:

  1. Creating an accessible and user-friendly experience for users of all technological backgrounds.

  2. Making sure that the navigation and user flow are displayed clearly to the user so that the process of ordering food is as smooth as possible.

  3. Applying the feedback from the usability studies in a way that would benefit the user.

Outcomes of the project:

  • Increased accessibility for native Spanish speakers through the implementation of a translation feature.

  • Improved user experience for mobile ordering.

  • Successful implementation of a wide range of features catering to different user groups.

  • Positive feedback from users regarding the authentic and satisfying Mexican dining experience provided by Comida Hut.

  • Created an application with extremely easy-to-use navigation.
